Happy Twenty Fifteen

Gosh. Another year down.

I’m in shock. The years keep adding up, not slowing down. I feel like I just posted my 2013 Inventory… And now it’s already time to share 2014.

It’s been a good year and we’ve been blessed, yet again. Even with the good, the bad, and the ugly, I’m still astounded Jesus thinks I’m worthy to live this life He’s given me. I’m extremely grateful.

So without further ado…

Here is my 2014 Inventory:

  • In 2014, I gained new friends. Friends that I didn’t even realize I needed.
  • I lost faith in people’s promises.
  • I stopped stressing over my running.
  • I started working part time again.
  • I was hugely satisfied by watching my two girls together.
  • And frustrated by my lack of time. I can’t remember the last time I had any time to myself, to do what I wanted. Selfish? Maybe. Accurate? Yes.
  • I am so embarrassed about a lot of things.
  • Once again, I planned to do more.
  • Once again, I didn’t do more.
  • The biggest physical difference between me last December and this December is my hair length. I’m missing about 5 inches this year.
  • The biggest psychological difference between me last December and this December is my lack of drive.
  • I loved watching my not-so-big, big girls walk into their respective schools for the first time.
  • Why did I spend even two minutes planning for a visit that never happened?
  • I should have spent more time in prayer. This will probably always be the answer here as long as I’m on this side of heaven.
  • I regret allowing myself to take things personally.
  • I will never regret being there (or trying to be there) for people, even when it hurt.
  • I said “yes” way too much.
  • The most relaxing place I went was Santa Barbara, CA. And to be honest – it wasn’t even relaxing. We were busy the whole time… but in a good way. 🙂
  • I did not tell my husband how much he means to me as often as I should have. He deserves to hear it all day, every day.
  • The best thing I did for myself was read a couple books that changed the way I think.
  • The best thing someone did for me was encourage me.
  • The one thing I’d like to do again, but do it better remember the details.

(Fill-in-the-blank template from Mary Schmich at The Chicago Tribune)

2015 Intentions:

  • Attend SheSpeaks Conference
  • Start and finish (the 1st draft) of my next book project.
  • Go the weekends (or at least 2 full days a week), without ANY social media or email checking.
  • Put my family first.

Wishing you a FABULOUS Twenty Fifteen!!
