Looking at Naomi

Jessica over at the {moms at hope} blog is writing a mini-series of some of the minor people in the bible that left a major impact on history.

Pretty cool series topic, huh?

Well, Jessica asked me to write about Naomi, from the Book of Ruth, and without hesitation, I agreed.

As I read through the story of Ruth, I was more surprised than I thought I’d be about the lessons Naomi had to offer – pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting get much out of writing the study, because I thought I already knew the Book of Ruth relatively well.

But, with a new focus, the story seemed completely fresh to me.

I walked away from this mini-study with two major take-a-ways I had never brought home before.

1)  We can leave our promise land filled, but still become drained. It is only when we return to the place that breathes life into us that we are restored.

2) Sometimes we already have better than what we want.

I hope you’ll take a minute and read through it. Naomi has some pretty cool stuff in store for us.

  • Thank you very much for sharing this short but sweet and definitely packed life lessons.
It's a matter of perspective really. It's looking at ourselves with different sets of eyes or attitude.

    Have a grace-filled week ahead!
