There are 150 psalms in the Bible. That’s 150 recommended psalms to study.
Let me start off by saying it is important to read and study all of the Psalms.
But in our decision on knowing where to start, the first psalms to go through are the ones that God is calling you to study, based on the season or circumstances you are in or you are headed into.
This particular book of the Bible was compiled over many, many years and it provides instruction, inspiration, motivation, and consolation. The most unique thing about the psalms are they are all lyrical poems, meant to be sung… which in my opinion makes them not just beautiful, but fun to read and study.
While there are many ways to categorize and study, most of the psalms can be categorized into these 5 types:
